Dance samba…. Now I will tell you everything that I know about samba.

Samba is a very energetic dance, dancing it around the cicle. Before 1914 this dance was named “Maxixe”. For the first time dance samba appeared European dancing halls after 1945 year samba became the popular dance in Europe.

Dance samba has a very peculiar rhythm, which we can near very well for the best accordance with the national Brazilian musical instruments.

Samba had some names. Such us: tamborim, chocalho, reco-reco and cabaca. National Brazilian dance included samba is in the contemporary modern ballroom dancing at the moment.

Dance samba preserved its original latin movements of hips in it. They are expressed in the springy movements in “Samba Bounce”.

Dance samba has many different elements. For example: samba step – it is the double steps, which are danced around the cicle too, but there is a samba-step at place. Visky is danced at sides, this is a step and the cover one leg with another leg. Batafoga is danced face to line of the dance, step to diagonal and after that step at side not putting weight on the leg, which we go. And after we do it, we should bend the support knee and to start anew only with another leg.

Volta is a step at side (for example, with the right leg) and another leg (for example, with the left leg) to diagonal and a little bit cross. These are many movements in samba – you will see them at video, which will be at this page.

Face to line of dance – it means that you face around, because some parts of dance are around, and dancers turn face to dance’s line. There is one more definition – back to line of dance. It is the same, but only back.

Try! I know you will!
